#2022-072898/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 0212 hours, officers responded to a burglary in progress. Reporting Party (RP) observed 3 suspects inside the Ballard Goodwill. Suspects were attempting to take 2 large bags of various items as well as the store’s safe. Officers arrived as the suspects were exiting the store. All 3 suspects were detained, taken into custody, and booked into King County Jail.
#2022-072924/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 0321 hours, a victim was at the 2600 BLK of SW Andover on a bike when an unknown person approached from the rear and shot him in his right upper calf. The victim was able to notify an occupant of a RV to call 911. Officers arrived and canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide, GVRU, and a PIO were notified about the incident. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Officers will respond back to the scene later in the morning to attempt and retrieve evidence.
#2022-072992/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 0645 hours, GVRU, SWAT, CRG, and K9 conducted an operation to arrest a suspect wanted for UPFA. The suspect was located at his residence (3500 block S Austin St) and arrested without incident. During the subsequent service of the search warrant, detectives recovered an AR style 12-gauge shotgun from the residence. The suspect was later booked into King County Jail.
#2022-072924/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 1318 hours, a victim was at the 2600 BLK of SW Andover on a bike when an unknown person approached from the rear and shot him in his right upper calf. The victim was able to notify an occupant of a RV to call 911. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. After reviewing video from a business nearby, officers recognized the suspect and his female companion who was known to them. At 1318 hours, officers were dispatched to the 4700 blk of 42 AVE SW regarded a disturbance which happened to be the address for the same female companion. The suspect’s vehicle was spotted in the parking garage at this location so officers believed the suspect was inside the apartment with the female. Officers arrived at the apartment the formed a contact team. It was during this time the suspect walked out of the apartment and was surprised to see officers in the hallway waiting for him. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The female was also taken into custody and later I&R’d from the precinct. Two handguns were located and submitted as evidence. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault 1 along with Kidnapping and Threats.
#2022-073354/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 1449 hours, multiple witnesses reported a woman was shot in the leg near the fountain at 3 Av. & Yesler St. The shooter was described as a male in his 30’s, wearing a red puffy jacket. Patrol units stopped a possible suspect. However, no witnesses were willing to participate, and the suspect was released from the scene. Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded and assisted with crime scene processing. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center and later contacted by GVRU for follow up investigations. The victim refused to cooperate with the investigation.
#2022-073561/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 1854 hours, officers arrested a suspect from a downtown retail business for burglary & attempted trafficking in stolen property. The suspect was transported to the West Precinct for processing. Major Crimes Task Force Detectives responded and interviewed the suspect. MCTF will be conducting the follow-up.
#2022-073744/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-24-2022 at 2258 hours, a male entered a Shell gas station, picked up 2 cases of beer, and attempted to exit the store without paying. The clerk, seeing this, grabbed the suspect. A struggle ensued during which the suspect punched the clerk in the face two times. The suspect got away and the clerk recovered the beer. There were no injuries. Patrol did an area check and the suspect was not located.
