On 03-26-2022 at1200 hours, Intel and CRG have been monitoring a permitted march in Westlake Park today. Concerning information regarding counter-protesters came to our attention in the days prior to and the day of the event. West Bikes and CRG units monitored both groups. The permitted march attendance peaked at approximately 300. The counter protesters numbers fluctuated. An officer verbally engaged the permitted group, explained our content neutrality, our commitment to the 1st Amendment for all, and restrictions we could and would impose in the interest of public safety. A few limited attempts to engage the counter protesters were not received well and in the interest of de-escalation, ceased. Officers were able to monitor both groups. The counter group did not provide any criminal acts. Eventually they returned to the launching location and dispersed. After music and speeches, the group marched for a while back to Westlake Park and dispersed. No direct police intervention was necessary. East and West Task Force were on stand-by but, not deployed.
