#2022-130528/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

On 05-24-2022 at 0230 hours, a suspect was heckling females at the Corner Pocket Billiards located at the 4300 SW Alaska St. A male intervened and a disturbance ensued. The intervening male victim left the establishment and went to the parking lot at an apartment building located in the area of 38 Ave SW/SW Oregon St. The victim saw a black Escalade circle the block a couple of times. A short time later the victim heard a gunshot, and he was struck in the left shoulder. The victim was transported to St Anne in Burien, and SPD was notified about the incident by King County. Officers didn’t locate a crime scene. GVRU was notified.

#2022-130520/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 05-24-2022 at 0252 hours, officers responded to the 4000 block of 26 AVE SW to a report of a strong-armed robbery of a purse. Victim was outside her residence when a suspect got out of a waiting car and grabbed victim’s purse. The pair struggled over the purse with the victim falling to the ground. Suspect got back in the car with the purse and left the area. Victim managed to keep almost the entire contents of her purse. Suspect dropped his cell phone. A witness/friend of the victim told officers that the incident may have been a follow-up to an altercation at a bar earlier in the evening.

#2022-130753/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 05-24-2022 at 0935 hours, a suspect who is well known to officers was swinging around a clothes iron by the cord. He then struck a vehicle with the iron, breaking the mirror off. The vehicle owner was on scene and provided his information. The suspect then removed his pants and shoes before running from officers. Officers followed on foot and were able to apprehend him several blocks from the original scene. While officers were attempting to take him into custody, he kicked an officer on the arm. The officer was not injured. Seattle Fire responded for suspected excited delirium and transported the suspect to the hospital. As of this writing, suspect is under SPD guard at HMC, awaiting his booking for Assault 3 and a couple of misdemeanor charges. CIT and HNT were on scene.

#2022-130739/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 05-24-2022 at 0939 hours, a male was taken into custody for a felony assault without incident. While in the back of the patrol vehicle he started exhibiting signs of excited delirium. The suspect struck his head several times against the glass cage causing injury to his forehead. Seattle Fire was called to the scene to evaluate the subject. He was transported to HMC by SFD. The incident was screened by Lt.

#2022-130906/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 05-24-22 at 1530 hours, officers responded to 937 N. 96th St, Clement Place, to a call of the suspect chasing the victim through the building with a knife. The suspect had previously made statements to staff that included threatening to cut the victim’s head off. Upon arrival officers located the suspect in another resident’s room. The suspect had entered the room without the resident’s knowledge. He had also entered the victim’s room without permission and stole several items that he then attempted to sell to other residents. Officers contacted the suspect and used verbal/CIT skills to coax him out of the room. The suspect was immediately placed under arrest for Felony Harassment, Burglary and Assault. During the search incident to arrest, the suspect struggled to pull away from officers. During the struggle with the suspect three officers were kicked in the legs multiple times. As he was placed into the back of the patrol vehicle the suspect spat at one of the officers. Three additional assault charges for assault on an officer were added. The suspect was subsequently booked into KCJ.

#2022-131104/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 05-24-2022 at 1711 hours, an unidentified suspect grabbed two pairs of eyeglasses in an optical store in the 4300 block of University Way NE. He punched the female staff member who told him to put them back or pay. He also told them he had a gun as he fled the store with the stolen glasses. Three female UW students walked into the store reporting that the same suspect had just pushed one of them down and attempted to steal their phones. Vehicle and foot traffic in the U-District was too heavy to consider the use of K9. An area check was unsuccessful, but the store has evidence.

#2022-131261/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 05-24-2022 at 2029 hours, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 9100 block of Rainier Av S, just west of the Safeway gas station. Officers located evidence of a shooting in the middle of Rainier Av S. A white Toyota Corolla sedan and a tan 250 series pick-up are believed to have been involved, last seen SB on 51 Av S. No victims or property damage were located. Patrol photographed and collected the evidence. GVRU was notified of the incident.
