#2022-131412/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-25-2022 at 0054 hours, officers arrived with Seattle Fire for a small fire in the lobby of an apartment complex. Smoke filled the complex after the fire was put out. Fire Marshal arrived at the scene, and it was determined to have been arson, with a possible suspect. SPD’s ABS screened the incident.
#2022-131442/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-25-2022 at 0206 hours, while officers were investigating an arson at an apartment complex, the possible suspect of that arson and another resident began exchanging words. Officers separated the two, however the possible suspect kept trying to walk past the officer towards the resident. The suspect then shoved the officer. The suspect was taken into custody for assault. The suspect later kicked the same officer and hit another in the face. The suspect was booked for investigation of assault. The incident was screened by a LT.
#2022-131588/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 05-25-2022 at 0845 hours, officers responded to ongoing bomb threats made via phone directed at SPOG. ABS deployed K9 and cleared the area. Follow up is being conducted to try and identify the caller and reports have been completed.
#2022-131778/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-25-2022 at 1136 hours, several witnesses reported shots fired in the area of 28th AV SW and SW Myrtle St. It appears two SUVs were chasing each other for an unknown reason. A passenger in a white SUV fired rounds at the blue SUV. At least one round missed the blue SUV and struck a residence. No one was struck by the errant rounds. Evidence of a shooting was located at the scene. A short while after, a white SUV was located in the 6300 block of 34 AV SW (unoccupied). It was a Federal Way stolen vehicle. It appears to be the suspect vehicle in the shooting. It was recovered and impounded to the processing room. Patrol processed the scene. GVRU was notified and will be taking over the investigation. No suspects were located. The other vehicle was not located.
#2022-131848/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 05-25-22 at 1241 hours, officers were called to an assault at a DESC run facility. The suspect attacked a maintenance worker at the facility striking him several times, while repeatedly using a racial slur. However, prior to officers arriving, the victim left the area, and has yet to be contacted. The suspect went on to assault a staff member and was arrested for misdemeanor assault and booked into KCJ. This is not the first time the suspect has been accused/arrested for a hate crime. Bias Crime, Homicide, Media advised.
#2022-132316/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-25-2022 at 2141 hours, an officer was flagged down by a bystander trying to assist a female with a cut to her chin. Officer requested that Seattle Fire respond to tend to her injuries after tripping and running into a pole. Because the subject was seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle with no plates and a temp tag in the window, the officer ran the VIN and it returned as a stolen vehicle out of Auburn. Additional officer responded to assist with detaining three subjects who were with the vehicle. Officers arrested 2 individuals for PSV and felony warrants, and the third was arrested for felony warrants and UPFA. Later officers located a stack of checks and money orders in the belongings of the arrested totaling $77,219.76. The vehicle was recovered, warrants verified, evidence seized and arrested booked into KCJ.
#2022-132358/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 05-25-2022 at 2238 hours, a suspect had allegedly entered his former employer’s business, demanded money, then held a gun to his own head and threatened suicide if his ultimatum was not met. Upon investigation however, officers discovered the suspect had weapons but did not brandish the weapons, the employees perceived no actual threat to their safety, the business did not hand over money, and the suspect was not actually suicidal. Officers ultimately booked the suspect on several weapons charges.
