Police Investigating University District Double Stabbing

Police are investigating after two people were stabbed in the University District on Wednesday evening.

At 6:09 p.m., police received reports of a stabbing in the 4300 block of Brooklyn Avenue Northeast. Officers arrived and located two stabbing victims: a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male. Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the scene and transported both victims to Harborview Medical Center. The 16-year-old patient was in stable condition and the 19-year-old patient was in critical condition.

According to witnesses, an altercation between the suspect and victims escalated and led to the stabbing.

The suspect reportedly fled on a bicycle and was described as a white male in his 20s-30s, medium build, wearing jeans and a black hat, carrying a black bag. Police searched the area for the man but did not find him.

Officers collected evidence at the scene and detectives will continue to investigate.
