#2022-139200/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 0020 hours, officers responded to a large fight disturbance at a bar. The officers dispersed the crowd and began tending to an injured patron. The suspect, who had clearly been involved in an earlier fight, approached officers, and attempted to antagonize them. The suspect was repeatedly asked to leave the area and to stop getting into officers’ personal space. The suspect became increasingly aggressive and eventually began throwing strikes at the on-scene supervisor. Type 2 Use of Force was employed, and the suspect was taken into custody. No officers were injured. FIT screened. Suspect booked for Assault 3rd Degree.
#2022-139720/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 1300 hours, the Community Response Group conducted a buy bust operation in the neighborhoods of Belltown, Downtown core, and Little Saigon. CRG made a total of 8 arrests across all three neighborhoods and seized the following: 98.2g Crack cocaine, 2.3g Xanax, approximately 350 fentanyl pills, 1 firearm (loaded at the time of arrest on an “armed career criminal” with previous convictions for VUCSA and Assault 2), and $930 in cash. Two suspects arrested also had fugitive warrants from out of state.
#2022-139699/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 1445 hours, staff at an elementary school in the 6200 block of 62 Av Ne called 911 when an unknown male hopped the fence and tried to enter the school, which the principal then placed on lockdown as a result. The unknown male was escorted off campus by school staff who reported that he then began throwing items at passing vehicles after leaving the property. School staff declined to assist police with their investigation. Moments later, the same suspect was observed in the immediate area by responding officers who saw him enter a DHL truck, assault the driver, and attempt to steal his vehicle. Ultimately unsuccessful, the suspect ran into traffic and boarded a bus. Officers boarded that bus immediately after, and an officer sustained a light fracture to their wrist taking the suspect into custody. The suspect was later booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery and Assault. FIT was contacted regarding this matter.
#2022-139919/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 1757 hours, a male was at his residence near 15 Av S/ S Atlantic St. A silver Nissan sedan pulled up and two suspects demanded he exit his black, 2007, Land Rover, WA BWN3775 at gun point. The victim stated the suspects were last seen driving NB on 15 Av S in both vehicles. The Land Rover was described as having tinted windows and chrome wheels.
#2022-139783/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 1500 hours, the Community Response Group was conducting a buy bust operation in the area of Little Saigon to disrupt street level narcotics trafficking. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for VUCSA – PWI. A fugitive warrant for Murder 2 out of Oregon was verified and suspect was booked into KCJ.
#2022-139977/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 1906 hours, an armed carjacking occurred at N Northgate WY and Stone AV N. The victim had been robbed, at gunpoint, and his Dodge Dart was stolen. Officers responded to the area to search for the victim’s vehicle. At about 1926 HRS, residents of the apartment complex in 11300 BLK of 8 AV NE called 911 to report seeing/hearing shots fired, associated with three vehicles in the parking lot. The callers reported multiple suspects surrounding the vehicles. One of the vehicles was described as a Land Rover (possibly associated with 2022-139919) and the suspects were reported to be removing the plates from the vehicle. Officers responded to the 11300 BLK of 8 AV NE. Two of the three suspicious vehicles were gone, along with the suspects. The lone vehicle left behind turned out to be the Dodge Dart from the N Northgate WY/Stone AV N carjacking. Officers formed a contact team and arrest team and safely cleared the vehicle. Officers canvassed the area for surveillance and searched the scene for evidence. K9 responded to the scene to assist in the search. Robbery Unit and CSI notified. The vehicle was impounded to the processing room for further investigation.
#2022-140045/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 2047 hours, officers responded to a reported stabbing located at 1902 E Yesler WY. Upon arrival officers ascertained that the incident was a robbery, during which the suspect stabbed the victim after the victim refused to turn over the contents of the till. The victim suffered a stab wound to his left forearm and had already self-treated his injury with a handkerchief. Officers rendered aid and redressed his injury and handed over aid once fire arrived. The victim was able to describe the suspect as a heavyset male wearing a grey hoodie and black sweats, as well as provide a last known direction of travel. The victim described the knife as a 3″-4″ silver blade but was unable to determine if the knife was fixed or folding. Officers conducted an area-check for the suspect but were unable to locate the suspect. Once the owner of the establishment arrived, officers were able to obtain a better description of the suspect and acquire footage of the incident. The incident was screened through Robbery.
#2022-140098/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 06-02-2022 at 2159, a follow up to event 22-140098, witness reported that suspect vehicles involved in an earlier shooting and carjacking three hours prior returned to the same parking lot where the incident occurred. Reporting party updated that she heard the suspects screaming and another gunshot. Vehicles involved were reported to be stolen and had no plates. Officers responded and began setting up containment around the parking lot the suspects were hanging around in. Just prior to making contact, the suspects left in two of the involved vehicles. Officers located one of the suspect vehicles and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The vehicle fled. Due to the immediate threat to the public presented by these armed suspects, officers initiated a pursuit. The suspect crashed into a parked car in the area of 115th St NE / 30 Av NE. Three suspects fled on foot. One suspect was located and taken into custody. A firearm was recovered. Containment was set up and K9 responded to assist. K9 conducted a track from the crash scene and recovered evidence. They tracked the suspects to a large very heavily wooded ravine. After an extensive search the other two suspects were not located. GVRU responded and assisted officers in processing the scene. Air support was not available.
