#2022-144100/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 06-06-2022 at 1704 hours, officers responded to a shots call at 6th Av S / S Orcas St. See SIR for incident 2022-143755. On 06-07-2022 at 0030 hours, officers located the suspect vehicle involved in the shooting. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled. A pursuit was authorized and went into the East Precinct area. The suspect vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver fled on foot while the front seat passenger was taken into custody at the scene of the collision. An officer pursued the driver on foot and captured him nearby in the yard of a residence when the suspect jumped over a fence and fell. Officers observed an AR style rifle next to the driver’s seat in between the seat and the center console. The suspect vehicle was secured for a warrant and taken to the SPD Processing Room. The driver was taken to the hospital for suspected fentanyl ingestion and will be booked into KCJ for Drive By Shooting, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Eluding. The front seat passenger was booked into SCORE Jail for a DOC warrant.
#2022-144622/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-07-2022 at 1532 hours, officers had probable cause to place a suspect under arrest for misdemeanor assault and malicious mischief. The suspect resisted arrest, and at some point, grabbed one of the arresting officer’s hands, and moved it in such a manner while struggling that the officer appeared to suffer a broken finger. Seattle Fire responded to screen the injury and advised the officer to seek further examination at a hospital. As of the time of this reporting, the officer is still being treated. Officer in Wellness was contacted. The matter was screened with Homicide, who agreed that the suspect, who was ultimately arrested, should be booked for Assault 2, due to the officer’s injury. Lt. notified as well.
