#2022-147246/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 06-10-2022 at 0521 hours, a 52-year-old male was driving a 2005 Nissan Xterra southbound on 15th Ave NW just north of NW 77th St. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and sideswiped a tree on the westside of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a second tree and rolled. The driver was the only occupant and was deceased at the scene.
#2022-147481/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 06-10-2022 at 1107 hours, a male victim was attacked by two suspects on the sidewalk at 2nd Avenue/Bell Street. The victim was struck with a skateboard by one of the suspects. The victim was stabbed twice with a knife by the second suspect. The victim tried to defend himself using a baton. The suspects fled southbound on foot from the scene. The wounds are possibly life threatening and the victim was transported by Seattle Fire to HMC. As of this writing, the victim is in the operating room. The incident was screened with homicide and screened by a Lt.
#2022-147772/North Precinct/Second Watch
On 6-10-22 at 1638 hours, officers responded to a high school located in the 10700 block of 30th Avenue Northeast for a report of a male with a gun. The reporting party said a male had walked onto the soccer field, had stolen a juvenile’s backpack, and was attempting to steal others. An adult present at the scene attempted to intervene and stop the suspect’s actions. When the adult confronted the suspect, the suspect produced a black handgun. The suspect fled the area and the complainant called 911. The complainant provided a good description of the suspect and last known direction of travel. Responding officers located the suspect a short distance away. Police located a black realistic-looking BB gun on the suspect. Police booked him into the King County Jail for harassment and robbery.
#2022-148131/East Precinct/Third Watch
On 06-10-22 at 2344 hours, patrol officers responded to the area of E Olive Way and Belmont Av E for a report of a person who shot at the tires of a vehicle. Officers arrived and contacted the complainant who stated she was picking up food from a nearby restaurant at which time she heard two loud bangs over her shoulder. A female was at the rear driver side of the vehicle and walked away south bound. The complainant found her rear driver side tire leaking air with a hole in the sidewall. Witnesses on the street reported hearing what they thought was a gunshot however no person saw a firearm. No casings were located and the suspect is outstanding.
#2022-148104/North Precinct/Third Watch
On 6-10-22 at approximately 2300 hours, the suspect left his home, while intoxicated, with his six-year-old child. The child’s mother contacted police out of concern for the child’s safety. While officers were at the suspect’s home, he drove past them. Police stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, who appeared to be in a state of crisis and was armed with a pistol. He initially refused to get out of his car or release the child. SWAT, negotiators, and K9 assisted in the incident, and the suspect eventually released the child to police. Officers then arrested him for DUI and reckless endangerment.
