#2022-150185/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 06-13-2022 at 0354 hours, officers responded to a criminal trespass at 12 AV / E Jefferson. Suspect had left prior to officer arrival, however while officers were leaving, they noticed a subject across the street that had apparently started a small fire inside the metro bus stop waiting area. Officers were able to extinguish the fire and found it was the same suspect from the criminal trespass. Officers developed Probable Cause for reckless burning, criminal trespass, and an SMC warrant. The suspect resisted which prompted a fast back, and the suspect was taken into custody. No officers were assaulted or injured. Type 2 Use of Force initiated, screened with A/LT.
#2022-150648/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-13-2022 at 1440 hours, officers were dispatched to the 12800 block of Meridian Ave N for an armed robbery with a shotgun. The investigation indicated that the victim was at Best Buy making a large electronics purchase. While inside the suspect encountered him and engaged him in conversation. The victim purchased the items and drove home. When he got home, he opened his trunk and was confronted by the same person with whom he spoke in Best Buy. The suspect displayed a sawed-off shotgun and demanded the items and got away in a blue vehicle. A search was conducted with no success. Roughly an hour later, officers located the suspect vehicle abandoned with damage to the oil pan in a driveway. The vehicle’s registered owner matches the description of the suspect in the robbery. The vehicle was impounded.
#2022-150794/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 06-13-2022 at 1733 hours, officers located a suspect who was wanted by the Homicide Unit for Assault 1 (SPD # 2022-144905). The suspect was standing at the corner of 4th Ave and Pine Street drinking a beer. Officers arrested the suspect without incident and the Homicide unit was notified. The suspect was later transported to Headquarters for an interview with Detectives.
