Detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed in an encampment in the Chinatown-International District early Friday morning.
At 12:04 a.m., police responded to 12th Avenue South and South Lane Street for reports that a man had been shot. Officers arrived and found a 31-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department Medics responded and declared the man deceased.
Officers secured the area and began searching for witnesses.
Members of SPD’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.
Homicide Detectives also responded and will lead the ongoing investigation.
