#2022-162108/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

It has been reported that, every weekend for weeks, a suspect has been terrorizing patrons and employees of various Admiral/Alaska Junction establishments and venues. Officers have become familiar with the subject and staff have formed a loose community advising one another whenever the suspect or his vehicle come into the area. Generally, suspect takes off prior to police arrival. On 06-25-2022 at 0149 hours, officers received a similar call for service. Officers determined that the suspect had a rape warrant with a $1,000,000 bail, formulated a plan and took suspect into custody without incident.

#2022-162136/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 0239 hours, officers responded to a call of shots fired inside an apartment. When officers arrived, they located a window that was shot out and a subject displaying a firearm from the window. The subject retreated into the apartment and officers established a perimeter and deployed a contact team into the apartment building. Officers contained the suspect and requested HNT and SWAT while evacuating surrounding apartment units. HNT established dialogue with the suspect and the suspect willingly surrendered shortly after SWAT arrival. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun, evidence of a shooting, and live ammunition in the apartment. Once inside the suspect’s apartment, officers found that she had also fired a round through her wall into her neighbor’s apartment. Suspect was booked into KCJ for reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

#2022-162232/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 0744 hours, officers responded to a North Precinct-area hospital to investigate a gunshot wound victim who had been shot in the East Precinct area. The victim advised that he was inside his tent at an encampment near Belmont Av. E./E. Denny Way. He heard subjects in a verbal altercation outside of his tent when he confronted them. The suspect then fired his weapon at him, striking his lower left leg. Officers responded to that location to locate the scene. Both a scene and witnesses were identified. Scene was secured and witnesses transported to the East Precinct and statements obtained. Blood trail was located, and the scene was photographed. Homicide was contacted. The victim sustained bullet fragment injury to his lower left leg which required surgery but is not life-threatening.

#2022-162345/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 1009 hours, suspect 1 entered a bank. His behavior was noticed by a witness. He went to a teller, passed a demand note to her, and the note had specific instructions with a threat of shooting the place up. Security guard came out, unaware of the situation and the suspect fled on foot without any money. Employee chased after to get a photo of the car & succeeded. Suspect 1 and suspect 2 ran to the vehicle entering the back seat and suspect 3 drove them away EB on S Myrtle St. Area search was negative. Patrol processed the door for possible prints. Note collected and submitted with possible prints. Robbery Sgt notified.

#2022-162594/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 1300 hours a group of approximately 1500 subjects took part in a Roe v Wade demonstration that began at Westlake Park and marched to several locations. The group eventually ended their demonstration at McGraw Square. The group consisted of individuals carrying signs. The marchers only briefly stopped traffic at various locations and no crimes were observed or reported. Several units were involved with the monitoring of this incident.

#2022-162490/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 1307 hours, officers responded to a residence for a report of a bias crime. The suspect is an adult male who had reportedly been smoking methamphetamine for the last 24 hours. The suspect is also a roommate of the victim and they both live in a 4-bedroom residential home with no prior relationship. The victim is a male adult. The victim reported that the suspect appeared high on meth and became angry with him for some perceived slight that the victim did not understand. The suspect then began aggressively chasing the victim around the house threatening to beat him up and referring to the victim repeatedly with a slur. The victim locked himself in his room for protection and called 911. Officers contacted the suspect and placed him under arrest. The reporting Sergeant responded to this address as well and spoke to the victim. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Investigation of Malicious Harassment with an additional request for misdemeanor charges. The Bias Crimes Detective was notified of this incident.

#2022-162641/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 1620 officers responded to a 911 call of a juvenile female working as a prostitute around the 10900 block of Aurora AV N. Officers located the female, who appeared to be underage. After the initial interview of the juvenile, it was learned that she was listed as a missing person from out of state. The missing person hit was verified. The Human Trafficking Unit was contacted, and two Detectives responded from home. The HTU Detectives took custody of the juvenile female and during the course of their investigation, learned that she had been trafficked from out of state to Seattle to work as a prostitute. The HTU Detectives coordinated with various agencies in Washington and her home state to ensure the safe return of the juvenile. HTU will be conducting the follow-up investigation.

#2022-162747/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-25-2022 at 1834 hours, four victims were hanging out in or around their vehicles, in the Ezell’s parking lot (501 23rd Ave), while eating their food. A black Mercedes or Lexus was observed driving SB on 23rd Ave, then WB on E Jefferson St. This vehicle then stopped near 22nd Ave. Two male suspects exited and walked into the Ezell’s parking lot. The suspects fired numerous times at the victims and then fled the scene. One of the adult male victims sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right arm and upper torso. Three vehicles sustained significant bullet damage. The gunshot victim was treated on scene and transported to HMC, in stable condition. GVRU Detectives responded and assisted with processing the scene. Evidence of a shooting was recovered. Three victims declined to speak with GVRU Detectives.
