#2022-165153/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 06-28-2022 at 0722 hours, a witness reported that a male struck a woman in the head with a metal pipe as well as several vehicles. Officers responded and located the victim and suspect. The suspect had walked away from the victim and was located nearby. The suspect was still armed with two metal pipes. The suspect was detained and later positively identified via a field show-up. The suspect started his multi-block crime spree when he approached a Metro coach that was out of service. The coach driver refused to let the suspect board and the suspect punched the entry door and then used a traffic cone to smash out the glass. The suspect then proceeded to Goodwill where he confronted an innocent bystander who refused his demands. The suspect then armed himself with two metal pipes and smashed the glass out of several more vehicles. The suspect then came upon a woman who was loading her vehicle. The suspect used the metal pipes and struck the woman unprovoked in the back of the head. The woman fell to the ground and turned towards the suspect. The suspect struck the victim several more times. The woman had defensive wounds on her arms from the strikes. The suspect was booked for felony assault and malicious mischief.

#2022-165392/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1231 hours, a demonstration occurred, hosted by the Justice for Tigray group. There were no issues, property destruction, or violence.

#2022-165647/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-27-2022 at 1743 hours, officers were dispatched to an assist Seattle Fire call at 2 Av/Bell St. The call was related to a man throwing large rocks at a Seattle Fire Department truck, causing damage. When officers arrived, the suspect ran. Officers chased the suspect and placed him into custody. Suspect was in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin. While in the back of a patrol vehicle, suspect kicked the windows and door of the patrol vehicle. The suspect caused visible property damage to the police vehicle. Suspect was transported to the King County Jail and booked for Malicious Mischief, VUCSA, and Obstruction.

#2022-165683/East Precinct/Second Watch:

On 06-28-2022 at 1822 hours, a family was having dinner in their home when the front door opened, and a male suspect walked into their home. The homeowner told the suspect to leave but the suspect ignored him and continued into the house. Fearing for their lives, the family which included the husband, wife, and their 2-year-old child ran out of the house while calling 911. Responding officers found the suspect trying to enter a neighboring house, immediately next to the initial victim’s home. The suspect ignored orders from officers and approached officers with a fighting stance. One officer deployed his Taser and achieved a momentary lock up on the suspect. However, the suspect recovered almost immediately and proceeded to swing his fists wildly at officers. Officers were able to take the suspect to the ground and handcuff him. While being detained in handcuffs, the suspect looked at one officer and threatened to kill the officer once he gets out of jail. One officer was injured during the assault. Seattle Fire was called to treat the injured officer and to screen the suspect due to the Taser deployment. The injured officer was transported to the hospital and discharged after a few hours. The suspect was transported to the hospital via AMR with a hospital guard. While at the hospital, the suspect spat at the guarding officer. Once the suspect is medically cleared from the hospital, he will be booked into KCJ for Burglary 1, Assault on Police Officer x 3, Felony Harassment, with charge request for Obstruction. 3rd Watch Commander was notified of the assault on police officers and the injured officer.

#2022-165741/South Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-28-2022 at 1934 hours, officers responded to an armed robbery at a temple located at 2811 S Holly ST. Three unknown younger males wearing masks, gloves, and dressed in dark clothing entered the temple and robbed the parishioners inside at gunpoint. The suspects took 5 phones, jewelry, $2000 in cash and one of the victim’s vehicles. Suspects drove off southbound on 38 Av S. Officers conducted an area check with negative results for the suspects. Suspect vehicle was a possible black Mercedes. Incident was screened with Robbery Unit.
