#2022-198369/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 0226 hours, officers were dispatched to a shots heard call near Chinook Beach Park. A short time later a caller reported that she heard the shots and then noticed bullet holes in her walls. Officers arrived and located one round inside of the caller’s apartment. The sliding patio door glass was shattered, and the round was stopped by a TV in the living room. Officers photographed the damage and collected evidence.
#2022-198443/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 0446 hours, officers responded to the 12000 block of 15th Ave NE to assist Seattle Fire with a structure fire. An exterior shed behind a building was apparently set on fire. The fire caused significant damage to the exterior staircase of the building. Fire Marshal was not available. Incident screened with SPD’s ABS who will conduct the follow-up investigation.
#2022-198510/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 0645 hours, a local hookah bar had several people at an after-hours party. Victim says he was approached by an unknown suspect while in the parking lot. Suspect then threatened to shoot him and made a verbal biased-based threat. The suspect pulled out what appeared to be a black pistol from his front waistline. The others at the club outside intervened, the victim feared for his life, and fled into the minimart above the hookah bar. The suspect left. The victim called 911. Patrol investigated and were unable to locate the suspect.
#2022-198539/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 0800 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting call in which a single gunshot was apparently fired through a local business window, apparently at the business owner standing at the register. Officers located a matching subject in the area and confirmed his identity but no gun was located. The suspect denied that a gun was involved, relating that he threw a small rock that hit the window by accident. The suspect was booked on Inv of Assault. Call screened with homicide.
#2022-198613/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 0952 hours, officers responded to a disturbance report and contacted a known crisis subject. Subject was making threats to fight people of a certain race, along with tormenting a business to the point it had to lock its doors for safety. Officers decided to ITA the subject, the subject resisted, forcing officers to use Level II Use of Force.
#2022-198894/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 1529 hours, officers responded to Cal Anderson Park for an assault. When officers contacted the victim, they stated that they believed the assault was due to their perceived sexual orientation. This was confirmed by the officers’ investigation and the suspect was arrest and booked into KCJ for Investigation of a Hate Crime.
#2022-198991/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 1710 hours, 14-15 persons were exposed to OC spray after an unknown suspect sprayed bear spray inside a train car on a south bound Sound Transit light-rail train. The suspect fled the scene when the train came to a stop at the Stadium station. The victims included multiple juveniles and their parents. Seattle Fire treated the victims at the scene and Sound Transit took the train out of service for cleaning.
#2022-199103/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 2100 hours, officers working the Torchlight Parade witnessed a disturbance during which a suspect brandished a firearm at a victim. Officers detained the suspect and, subsequent to the investigation, arrested the suspect for Threats and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
#2022-199257/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 07-30-2022 at 2149 hours, officers witnessed a disturbance where the suspect was later arrested for Felony Harassment for threatening the officers (2022-199236). During that incident another subject associated with the group involved in the disturbance fell out of his chair. The subject was very intoxicated. A Sgt attempted to assist the subject but was assaulted by him. He was taken into custody and booked into jail for assault. CRG 1 was notified.
