#2022-212995/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-13-2022 at 0113 hours, officers responded to the 5100 block of S Fountain St to a report of an intentional fire aboard a boat. Upon arrival the boat was found to be on dry land on a trailer on the side of the road. Seattle Fire was on scene and had extinguished the fire. Fire Marshal responded for further investigation and determined the fire to be possible arson. No suspect information was provided as only “earwitnesses” were available. The boat was not occupied, and no victims were located. SPD ABS notified of the incident.
#2022-213020/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-13-2022 at 0154 hours, Seattle Fire called for SPD assistance for a substantial encampment fire at 10 Av S/S Dearborn St. While on scene, 10 to 12 propane tanks exploded. SFD personnel informed officers that this was the second large fire at this encampment recently. The last fire there included issues of propane tank explosions as well as firearm ammunition exploding as it was exposed to the flames.
#2022-213035/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-13-2022 at 0225 hours, officers responded to assist Seattle Fire with a possible arson in the 2200 block of SW Kenyon St. SFD was on scene and extinguishing the fire that had been started on a foot bridge under construction. The small fire was quickly under control and Fire Marshal was notified. There was no suspect description and there were no victims located. SPD ABS was notified.
#2022-213288/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-13-2022 at 1050 hours, officers responded to reports of a trespass at a north precinct inn. The suspect was in an employee only restroom refusing to leave. Officers attempted to convince the suspect to leave but he refused. Officers entered the room to arrest the suspect. The suspect armed himself with a lighter and an aerosol can. The suspect attempted to light officers on fire using the aerosol can and lighter but was unsuccessful. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and booked into KCJ for investigation of assault. No injuries reported.
#2022-213443/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-13-2022 at 1358 hours, officers responded to reports of shots fired at 53 AV S and Rainier AV S. Witnesses reported that a male on foot and a vehicle occupant were involved in a shoot-out. Three parked cars were hit by bullets. No people were struck/injured. Officers recovered evidence of a shooting.
