#2022-214148/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-14-2022 at 0544 hours, a suspect lived in a boarding house with individually locking rooms. Suspect wanted to borrow a victim’s car. Victim declined because the suspect was not licensed to drive. A while later, the suspect entered the victim’s room via an unlocked door and with a stainless-steel meat cleaver slashed the right side of the victim’s face, causing potential permanent disfigurement and profuse bleeding. Suspect barricaded himself in the basement where he was contained by arriving patrol units. Suspect also possibly armed with a handgun. HNT & SWAT took over negotiations and apprehension pending a search warrant for subject and weapons. Subject booked to KCJ for Assault 1.
#2022-214348/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-14-2022 at 0550 hours, a resident near Renton AV S and S Kenyon ST called 911 after hearing “20” gunshots. Officers recovered evidence of a shooting at the N/E corner of the intersection. At the time of the report, no people were reported injured, and officers did not find any property damage.
#2022-214812/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-14-2022 at 2143 hours, officers, ABS, Seattle Fire, and Fire Marshal responded to a fire at a marina involving three boats that were ultimately destroyed. There were no injuries reported. ABS interviewed the owner of the boat where the fire originated and will handle the follow-up investigation.
#2022-214837/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-14-2022 at 2200 hours, officers responded to a report of 7 shots fired in the alley behind 1411 E Olive Way behind Uncle Ike’s. Officers conducted an area check and one subject ran from the area, but officers did not have legal reason to detain him at the time. Officers conducted an area check and located evidence of a shooting on the ground in the alley. Officers detained 3 subjects in the alley. The firearm was loaded with a single .22 caliber round. Officers did not locate anyone injured, damage or any further evidence of a shooting. Officers’ investigation was unable to determine who fired a gun. The subjects were released, and the incident was documented.
#2022-214906/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-14-2022 at 2334 hours, officers responded to a report of shots heard near 7500 35 Ave SW. Initial callers reported hearing 4 shots and a vehicle speeding away. A victim was located at the scene and reported he was driving southbound when an unknown vehicle (black Mercedes sedan) overtook them in the turn lane while shooting as they did so. The victim’s vehicle was struck one time, incapacitating the vehicle. The suspect continued southbound from the scene. A KC Metro driver witnessed the incident and contacted officers on scene. KCSO was contacted to conduct a search for evidence. GVRU was contacted and notified of the incident. Evidence of a shooting was recovered.
