In addition to Saturday’s homicide in South Seattle, police are investigating two other weekend shootings that left two people injured.
Saturday at 9:45 a.m., a 911 caller near 5th Avenue and Union Street reported someone had just been shot. Arriving officers found a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back. Police began first aid and then transferred care to Seattle Fire Department medics upon their arrival. Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Officers located a shooting scene in a nearby alley and collected ballistic evidence.
Sunday at 4:38 a.m., a man in the 8300 block of Wabash Avenue South called 911 to report he had been shot. Officers found the 23-year-old caller with a gunshot wound to his leg that appeared to be non-life-threatening. Seattle Fire Department medics treated the man at the scene and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center via private ambulance.
According to the victim, he had argued with three suspects before one of them shot him. Officers located a shooting scene at the entryway of a nearby residence.
At this time, police do not believe any of these shootings are related, but this is preliminary information and they all remain active and ongoing investigations.
