#2022-224175/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-24-2022 at 0650 hours, a victim was in the encampment at Dearborn and 10 Ave S to meet a girl. A fight ensued and two suspects assaulted the victim. The victim returned to gather his jackets, and the third suspect told him to get out of here and fired a single shot into the ground next to the victim. All three suspects disappeared into tents. The victim met officers and was treated by Seattle Fire for a cut to his forehead. One suspect was located, and after a positive ID, was arrested for the assault and booked into KCJ.
#2022-224544/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-24-2022 at 1324 hours, there was a large encampment fire located under I-5 at Airport Way S / S Snoqualmie St. Traffic was disrupted on I-5 due to visibility from the smoke and Airport Way S was closed for about two hours. SDOT and PEOs were needed to assist with traffic control. The cause of the fire was undetermined at this point. WS-DOT was requested to check for damage. The incident was screened with ABS.
#2022-224549/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-24-2022 at 1329 hours, radio broadcasted shots fired at Rainier Av. S. and S. Director St. Witnesses reported a seeing a vehicle pull up and start firing at someone on the side of the street. A suspect was seen running away from the scene with a gun and was possibly picked up by a vehicle. At 1354 hours, radio broadcasted that a gunshot victim was just dropped off at HMC. South Patrol units processed the scene. GVRU detectives responded to HMC. At the time of this report, detectives were unable to interview the victim due to medical reasons. GVRU will conduct follow up investigations.
#2022-224599/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-24-2022 at 1427 hours, officers responded to a report of 5 shots being heard near Rainier Av S / Seward Park Av S. Arriving officers received limited witness information about a black Chevy Suburban and a blue SUV being involved in some type of disturbance with shots being fired. Officers located evidence of a shooting in the nearby parking lot of a mini-mart. There was no additional information at the time of this report.
#2022-208282/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-24-2022 at 2003 hours, patrol and CRG were in the area looking for a suspect responsible for multiple bank robberies in the past few weeks. They saw a car parked that matched the description of the suspect vehicle and contacted the occupants. They recognized one of the occupants as the suspect they were looking for. They verified his identity and arrested him. The car was impounded to the processing room. The suspect was taken to SPD headquarters where he was interviewed by robbery detectives. The suspect was booked into KCJ.
