#2022-225233/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-25-2022 at 0645 hours, a subject was reported to be in the DOC parking lot poking cars with a knife, then left Northbound on 4 Ave S. A primary officer and 2 -2 Officer units were dispatched to the call. Suspect gone. Extensive area check was negative. Suspect possibly living in an area homeless encampment or out of a nearby vehicle. Primary unit reported 8 DOC vehicle with a total of 12 tires slashed and 7 civilian vehicles with total of 12 tires slashed along the eastern 4 Ave S corridor between Royal Brougham to Massachusetts.
#2022-225472/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-25-2022 at 1136 hours, an unknown male driving a white Lincoln sedan intentionally rammed a fence located behind the Home Depot on the 11600 block of Aurora AV N. Store employees were behind the business when they observed the white sedan driving at a high rate of speed on Stone AV N (behind the Home Depot). The driver of the vehicle struck the fence, reversed, and struck the fence again while employees were standing by. The driver of the vehicle then yelled profanities and began waving at the Home Depot employees as he drove away. The damaged fence is located near a homeless encampment that had been cleared out.
#2022-225682/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-25-2022 at 1509 hours, multiple officers coordinated a planned response to apprehend a wanted subject who eluded law enforcement in the past. Officers set containment on the subject’s place of business in the Belltown area prior to the subject’s arrival to work. Once the officers attempted contact, the subject fled on foot. Officers were able to apprehend the subject after a short foot pursuit. The incident involved a use of force and no officers were significantly injured.
#2022-225757/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-25-2022 at 1619 hours, Seattle Fire Aid was called for a down male. As they were providing medical aid, a male cruised up in his motorized wheelchair and punches the down male. The suspect then tried to run over the firefighters with his motorized wheelchair resulting in a “Help the Firefighter” call. Officers located the suspect several blocks away and were able to detain him and then arrest him. During the arrest, the suspect threatened to kill an officer.
#2022-225770/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-25-2022 at 1634 hours, officers responded to the 7800 block Detroit Ave SW for a report of shots being fired. Prior to police arrival, a victim called 911 to report being shot. Upon officers’ arrival, the victim was located in front of a convenience store with gunshot wounds to his leg. During the investigation it was learned that the victim and two acquaintances were standing in front of the store when the suspect arrived in a vehicle. A verbal confrontation ensued as the suspect entered the store. When the suspect emerged from the store the argument continued. Both the victim and the suspect postured one another until the suspect entered his vehicle and began backing his vehicle out of the lot. The victim grabbed a nearby object and followed the suspect as he backed out of the parking lot. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim with the victim still following the car as it left. The victim swung the object several times at the suspect when the suspect fired the handgun two time before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered two gunshot wounds to his leg. Seattle Fire arrived and transported the victim to HMC for further medical treatment. The incident was screened with GVRU. SW patrol processed the scene and collected evidence. An area check for the suspect was negative.
#2022-225637/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 08-25-2022, an officer obtained intelligence as to the location of a high-utilizer suspect with a felony burglary warrant, wanted on numerous other charges including but not limited to: Escape-2 (had escaped from SPD custody previously), Auto-Theft, and Identity Theft, and contacted the CRG 5A squad for assistance. The suspect and a secondary suspect were located and taken into custody at a Home Depot in Issaquah. The secondary suspect was detained on suspicion of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and he and the recovered vehicle were turned over to Issaquah PD. Issaquah PD ended up booking the second suspect for a DOC warrant.
#2022-226137/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-25-2022 at 2308 hours, a victim stated he was walking home after getting off the bus when he observed 3 males standing behind a tree who began shooting at him. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand. Evidence of a shooting was located in the roadway, and witnesses stated they observed two males loitering in the area prior to the shooting. Evidence was collected and the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
