#2022-253518/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 09-22-2022 at 1003 hours, a victim was receiving services at a local shelter. When the victim realized he left his backpack outside, he went to locate it. He located it hanging from a cart controlled by a female. The victim attempted to retrieve this backpack from the female but was ambushed by several suspects in an attempt to stop him from retrieving his belongings. One of the suspects physically restrained the victim while another stole his backpack and belongings. The victim claimed to have been sprayed with pepper spray at some point, but witnesses stated the victim pepper sprayed the suspects attacking him. The suspect who restrained the victim was identified and officers detained him. The suspect grew increasingly agitated with officers and was placed in handcuffs. The suspect was subsequently arrested for accomplice to Investigation. of Robbery. Suspect was booked into KCJ.
#2022-253551/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
At 1043 hours, officers responded to report of a subject walking with what may have been a rifle case. The subject was in a park near a school, which went into a shelter in place. An area check for the suspect was negative, but a subject reported seeing someone matching the description earlier on a bicycle. School security collected evidence.
#2022-254116/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2035 hours, the victims were driving northbound on E Marginal Way S when their vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire. The victims were reluctant to provide information to responding officers and no suspect information was obtained. Officers located evidence of a shooting at E Marginal Way S and S Dawson St. The building on the northeast corner of that intersection and an uninvolved employee’s vehicle were also struck by gunfire. Patrol processed the scene.
