#2022-284789/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 10-23-2022 at 0051 hours, officers responded to the 2800 Block of SW Yancy ST to a 911 report of a possible armed hostage situation. This location is a transitional facility and officers reached staff inside. The 911 report disconnected after relaying that an assault had taken place and that staff were allegedly complicit. Officers gauged the veracity of the complaint and made a plan to contact the unit occupant. Officers contacted the sole occupant of the unit and found her to be safe and in good health. The call was false.
#2022-284819/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0145 hours, officers heard several volleys of shots fired south of 10 Ave S and S Dearborn St. Officers performed several area checks and located no victims or evidence. Based on location and passersby, the shots likely came from an encampment south of Dearborn. No 911 calls about the shots were called in.
#2022-285244/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1429 hours, officers were dispatched to an assault call which led to an arrest for Bias/Malicious Harassment. The suspect contacted the victim and made a bias comment. The suspect then assaulted the victim. The suspect is currently a member of the Seattle City Attorney’s Office High Utilizer List. He was booked into KCJ.
#2022-285648/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2316 hours, a victim was robbed of his belongings at gunpoint by 5 suspects in the area of 3rd Ave and James St. The suspects fled the area prior to officers arriving and an area check was clear. Officers were able to recover and return some of the victim’s discarded belongings nearby prior to clearing the scene.
#2022-285662/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2339 hours, Seattle Fire and SPD responded to a large fire at the encampment along I5 at 8 Ave S and S Weller St. The fire burned approximately 500 square feet of the encampment with flames reaching 30 feet high, partially igniting trees lining the I5 corridor. After the fire was out, SFD searched the remains and found no victims. No private property was damaged and SFD noted nothing suspicious about the fire.
