This afternoon, detectives arrested the suspect in a Rainier Valley attempted robbery and seized a gun and narcotics from the man.
On October 24th at around 9:10 p.m., police responded to an attempted armed robbery in the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South. As the victim was pumping gas, a man armed with a gun grabbed her and shoved her, and then attempted to steal her purse from inside her car. The woman was able to hang on to her purse and safely drive away to call 911.
Police identified the suspect and arrested him today at a residence in the 9500 block of Rainier Avenue South. At the time of the arrest, the 36-year-old suspect was in possession of suspected fentanyl and a handgun. He is not allowed to carry a firearm because he is a convicted felon.
Detectives booked the man into King County Jail for the attempted robbery plus the narcotics and firearms violations.
