Police are investigating after a 61-year-old man was stabbed Saturday night in Pioneer Square.
Shortly after 10:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 50 block of South Main St. Responding officers found a male victim with a stab wound to his back. Officers provided first aid to the victim.
The victim said he was standing in the alley when an unknown male suspect approached him from behind and stabbed him in the back. The victim turned around to fight the suspect, but the suspect ran off. A description of the suspect is unavailable at this time. Officers are checking the area for any available video footage.
Seattle Fire responded to the scene, treated the victim and transported him to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
