At 1319 hours, a suspect walked into a locally owned store on Thanksgiving Day and concealed an item from the store. As he was attempting to leave, the store manager asked the suspect to return the item. The suspect responded by swinging his fist at the employee and then spitting on him. The suspect then threatened to return with a gun and shoot the employees and all the customers. The suspect kept the stolen item concealed and left the store. Responding officers tracked down the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect exhibited crisis behavior and was hostile toward the arresting officers. The suspect told officers he was planning to go home and get a 357 Magnum. He stated that he would then come down to the East Precinct and blow his brains out. This is the second time in a month this same suspect has threatened to commit a mass shooting inside a business in the East Precinct. In the previous incident the suspect frightened customers so badly that they all ran into the back of the store and hid. For this incident, the suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery and for Investigation of Felony Harassment. A Hazard Report was done on the suspect and CRT was notified and requested to evaluate the suspect for an ERPO. Criminal Intelligence, Robbery and Homicide were also notified of this incident.
