Police are investigating after thieves stole an ATM from a Northgate bank early Monday.
At 3:22 AM police responded to the 500 block of Northeast Northgate Way for a report of a burglary alarm at a bank.
Three suspects used a a Ford Econoline van and a chain to rip the ATM from the bank’s vestibule wall. Witnesses heard the commotion and saw the suspects drive off with the ATM dragging behind.
Officers found the one ton ATM machine by the side of the road with multiple damaged vehicles, including the suspected getaway van, parked nearby. Witnesses told the officers that the suspects were spotted leaving in a gold or tan SUV.
