Major Crimes Task Force Locate and Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect

Seattle Police Major Crimes Task Force assisted in the arrest of a male suspect, who in the year of 2019 stabbed his girlfriend seventeen times before leaving the area in the victim’s vehicle. The victim survived after sustaining life-threatening injuries and receiving medical treatment by Seattle Fire Department and Harborview Medical Center personnel.

SPD Domestic Violence Detectives worked with MCTF in locating the 34-year-old male suspect, who fled from Washington state. After many months and several served search warrants, MCTF Detectives found the male suspect in Mexico.

MCTF Detectives partnered with King County Prosecutor’s Office Special Operations Unit and the United State Department of Justice Office of International Affairs to obtain approval for the extradition of the suspect since he was a Mexican National. Once approval was granted, Mexico issued an arrest warrant and the suspect was later arrested for his International Extradition Warrant by the US Marshals Service after receiving further information of the suspects whereabouts from MCTF.

USMS extradited the male suspect from Mexico back to Washington state and transferred custody to SPD. Late this past January, the male suspect was booked into King County Jail for attempted murder, assault, kidnapping, violation of a court order, and property destruction.
