Locksmith Carjacked by Gunpoint in SLU

Seattle Police responded to an armed carjacking that occurred at a hotel business in the South Lake Union neighborhood Thursday evening.

Police arrived shortly after 11:00 p.m. in the 200 block of 7th Avenue North and contacted a man who was robbed at gunpoint and had his work van stolen. The 31-year-old male victim made car keys for two women. After the victim made the car keys, he asked for payment, but the women could not pay for the work completed.

One female suspect then pulled a handgun from a fannypack and pointed it at the victim as she asked for his keys and cell phone. The victim handed over his property since the second female suspect appeared to be grabbing for a gun as well.

The victim observed one female suspect drive his work van while the other drove the suspect car northbound from the business.

The suspect car was described to be a red Toyota Camry. The victim’s van a white Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van. Officers searched the area for both cars but did not locate either of them. Police did recover the victim’s cell phone near the 100 block of Dexter Avenue North.
