#2023-052387/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 02-24-2023 at 0135 hours, officers responded to assist Seattle Fire with traffic control in the 2300 Block of 41 AVE SW for a house fire. Patrol was advised by the Fire Marshal that the fire had started in the basement and appeared to have been intentionally set. The fire was contained, and SPD’s ABS was advised by Fire Marshal. The house has been vacant for some time and is often used by squatters. No injuries reported. SFD Case number 23-23360.
#2023-052974/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1538 hours, officers responded to the 4100 block of 48 Av Ne, where a vehicle was observed by several callers as it drove erratically and appeared to have deliberately driven over a stop sign. The driver was said to have then exited the vehicle and remained in the area, yelling angrily. After the investigation and subsequent arrest, the driver, who refused to provide a name or be identified, made bias-related remarks to the officer. Intel was notified about this incident, and the driver was booked into King County Jail.
#2023-053157/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 1901 hours, a female parked her car on the street in front of her home and began to walk inside. The female victim was then confronted by two suspects who were armed with a gun and demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim screamed and ran to her front door. The suspects fled. Patrol arrived and set up containment. K9 arrived and conducted a track that initially appeared promising but fizzled out after approximately 6 blocks. Suspects were not located.
#2023-053257/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2135 hours, a male was at a bus stop when a suspect approached him and used bias slurs before pushing and punching the victim. Suspect located, arrested, and booked into KCJ by responding officers. Incident screened with duty Captain and all required notifications made.
