#2023-054439/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
On 02-16-2023 at 0719 hours, officers responded to the 3000 block of Harbor Av SW to assist Seattle Fire at the scene of a RV fire. SPD provided traffic control. The occupant of the RV claimed not to be inside but was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to the hospital. There were no other injuries reported. Fire Marshal responded and determined that the fire was accidental. SDOT contacted about site clean-up.
#2023-054508/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0931 hours, in the 1000 blocks of Fairview Av N, a family was walking near the waterfront when a male yelled at them to “go back to their country” and tried to fight them. A bystander intervened and was assaulted by the suspect. The family walked away unharmed and called 911. The bystander also left the scene and was not located. The family believes that they were targeted because of their race. The suspect also left and still outstanding. Unit 211 was advised. Proper notification made per SPD manual.
#2023-054944/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1856 hours, an employee was working at the counter of a carryout food establishment when he observed the suspect enter the store. The employee believed the suspect was a customer and began speaking to him. The suspect produced a handgun, pointed it at the employee, and demanded money from the register. The employee complied. The suspect exited the store and fled the scene. Another employee followed the suspect and observed him entering the passenger side of a vehicle before it left the area. An area check was conducted with negative results. The incident was screened with the Robbery Unit. Local media was on scene.
