#2023-059293/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-03-2023 at 0614 hours, smoke was seen coming from a vacant building. The building quickly became engulfed in flames. Lake City Way was closed both directions for several hours due to the size of the fire and number of Seattle Fire personnel. Fire Marshal responded to the scene and the origin is still under investigation. It is still undetermined if anyone was inside the premise. SPD’s ABS was notified.
#2023-059972/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 1933 hours, a male was returning home from work and backed into his driveway when two armed suspects approached his vehicle and removed him from his vehicle at gunpoint. Suspects tried to get the victim to open the door to his house, but the victim had left the keys in the vehicle. The suspects returned to the victim’s vehicle to get the keys and the victim started yelling. The suspects grabbed the victim’s phone connected to the charger but dropped it on the ground before getting in their black or red possible Prius and drove off. Victim stated the suspects kicked him in the hip. Medics declined. Robbery was notified.
#2023-060014/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2019 a victim called 911 to report a robbery that occurred in the 100 block of 2 Ave S. The victim sustained a likely broken nose after being struck in the face with a metal pipe and being further assaulted by three individuals involved in the robbery. Officers located one of the suspects in another unit, and while officers were waiting for a warrant for the unit, another suspect returned. After a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody. Officers served a warrant on the unit and recovered the weapon used in the robbery, the victim’s belongings, and photographed the scene.
#2023-060093/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2230, victims were returning home from having dinner at a casino with friends. As the victims were walking up to their front door, two unknown suspects grabbed the husband from behind and put a gun to his side. A third unknown suspect ran forward and grabbed the wife and put a gun to her. The couple started screaming and the husband was pistol whipped on the back of the neck knocking him to the ground. The unknown suspects grabbed the husband’s wallet and they all left in an unknown direction in an unknown vehicle. Seattle Fire responded for medical evaluation on the husband. Robbery Unit was notified.
#2023-060103/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2248 hours, officers responded for an area check of the SR-99 tunnel for a subject walking southbound pulling fire alarms. Officers contacted a subject in crisis and attempted to detain him for community caretaking under the Involuntary Treatment Act as he was walking in lanes of traffic. The subject struggled with officers and a “Help” was broadcast. The subject was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for an emergency mental health evaluation. A Type II Use of Force investigation was completed.
#2023-060126/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2331 hours, a victim parked her car in her driveway. As she exited her vehicle, she was confronted by a suspect who attempted to rob her. A struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed the victim in the arm. A 16-year-old good Samaritan intervened and chased the suspect, aided by the boyfriend of the victim. Patrol arrived, set up containment, called for K9, performed a K9 track, but were unable to locate the suspect.
