Seattle Police responded to a shooting where a man reported being shot in the leg in the Belltown neighborhood Thursday evening.
At about 07:30 p.m., officers arrived near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Bell Street and found the man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. The 49-year-old male victim was provided care by officers prior to Seattle Fire Department’s arrival. SFD later transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
The victim had an argument with another man described as a Black male in his 40s-50s wearing all tan clothing, tan and black hat, and a red and white flannel shirt. During the argument, the male suspect produced a black handgun and shot the victim in the leg.

The male suspect was seen by witnesses at a nearby business in the 2200 block of 3rd Avenue but left the area in an unknown direction after the shot was fired.
Police searched for the suspect but did not locate him. Officers recovered ballistic evidence from the scene.
SPD Homicide detectives will lead the investigation of this case.
