#2023-060282/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-04-2023 at 0548 hours, officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a local coffee shop. The business owner was also in route to the location. Suspect had left the scene moments before officers arrived; however, he caused thousands of dollars in damage in a short amount of time. While officers were reviewing evidence with the owner, an officer spotted the suspect nearby and was able to identify him based on evidence. The suspect is being booked for burglary.
#2023-060337/East Precinct/First Watch:
A resident at an apartment building was exiting out the parking gate and found a deceased male next to the garbage dumpster. SFD arrived and assumed it was an overdose. He was identified by his the KCJ bracelet. Homicide screened the incident and responded while ME was on scene.
#2023-060648/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1300 hours, a mother and her 4-year-old child were shopping at Pike Place Market when a male unknown to them grabbed the child in a bear hug and said, āIām going to steal your child.ā The mother screamed at the suspect who let go of the child and left the area. The mother and child returned home and reported the incident hours later after prompting from friends and family. West officers conducted an area check for the suspect, a tall, thin, male in his forties wearing dark clothing, but the suspect was not located. Homicide was notified via email.
