Seattle Police responded to a reported carjacking at gunpoint near Swedish Cherry Hill Hospital this morning.
Police arrived at about 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of East Cherry Street and 18th Avenue East and contacted the victim who stated an unknown man stole his vehicle while a second man pointed a gun at him.
When the 49-year-old male victim returned to his parked vehicle, a man was in the driver’s seat. As the victim confronted the man, a male accomplice approached and pointed a firearm at him. The victim retreated to safety and called 911.
Both suspects drove off last seen heading eastbound on East Cherry Street. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspects.
Police later recovered the victim’s car near the intersection of 14th Avenue South and South Ferdinand Street.
