#2023-064900/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-09-2023 at 0100 hours, officers were dispatched to a shots call where they located evidence of a shooting. No victims, suspects, or property damage were located. The incident was screened with GVRU.
#2023-064907/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0145 hours, during the search incident to arrest of a felony harassment suspect, the suspect kicked an officer in the leg causing transitory pain. Suspect was booked on the additional charge of Assault 3.
#2023-065103/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 0911 hours, a male victim was walking out from a hospital to find a suspect inside his truck, attempting to hot wire it. The victim confronted the suspect when a second suspect, got out of a white SUV that was parked nearby, produced a handgun, and told the victim to stay away. The suspect successfully started the victim’s truck and they both drove away east on Cherry ST. Victim’s truck is a large 350 Ford flatbed with toolbox in bed. Update: The stolen vehicle was located and will be processed for evidence. Screened with Robbery Sgt.
#2023-65816/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2216 hours, a juvenile subject was contacted as a passenger in a now recovered SPD stolen vehicle where a stolen firearm was also recovered. The juvenile was released to the custody of their mother, who lives very close to the scene. Several minutes later, the juvenile returned, running towards the scene, jumped onto the trunk of the newly recovered stolen vehicle and proceeded to then strike the on-scene Sergeant’s chest. No injuries to the Sergeant, juvenile booked at YSC.
