#2023-065878/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

On 3/10/2023 at 0029 hours SW Officers responded to a report of shots heard in the area of 30 Ave SW and SW Barton St. Callers indicated that a vehicle had been observed fleeing the area and that shots had been fired from the vehicle as it traveled through the neighborhood. No specific vehicle or suspect description was provided by callers. Officers located the scene and recovered evidence of the shooting. No victims, property damage or additional evidence was located at this time.

#2023-065904/North Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0142 hours, officers responded to a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, victims stated that while they were away an unknown individual broke into their home. Upon searching the home, it was discovered that an unknown suspect stole a safe containing roughly $200,000 worth of jewelry, watches, and cash. Items potentially possessing fingerprints were collected and submitted to evidence. No cameras on the property. Suspect unknown. Screened incident with GIU.

#2023-065973/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:

At 0515 hours, the victim was at her job at Westwood Village located at 2600 SW Barton St. While she was in her car, her boyfriend (suspect) showed up and accused her of cheating. During the argument, the suspect got angry and pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The victim stated that she was in fear, and the suspect said that he will pop her while pressing the firearm into her chest. The victim was armed with her own firearm. The victim stated that the suspect grabbed her by the throat and began choking her. The victim stated that the suspect went to retrieve her gun from his pocket, and she shot two rounds in the air to stop him. The victim stated that a few minutes later the police showed up and the suspect gave her back the gun. Officers arrived and detained both while investigating the incident. After investigating the incident, the suspect was placed in custody for DV/Assault 2 and DV Felony Harassment. Two firearms and two fired cartridge casings were photographed and recovered from the incident. The suspect was booked at KCJ.

#2023-066107/East Precinct/First Watch:

At 0821 hours, officers responded to a parked occupied stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a Church. Officers were able to safely take both occupants into custody for possession of a stolen vehicle. The passenger was identified and released at the scene. The suspect that was in the driver’s seat, had a key fab and was booked into KCJ without altercation. The owner was able to recover his vehicle.

#2023-066612/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1721 hours, on 03-09-23 a suspect was arrested for four DV related crimes (Misdemeanors). The Object to Release was completed and read that the suspect would likely return to the residence and that the victims were afraid of the suspect. It also read that the suspect was likely to reoffend. On 3-10-23 the suspect returned to the address, immediately after being released from KCJ, and committed a felony DV assault this time. When officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted their efforts resulting in two type two uses of force. He was booked into KCJ again. The object to release was filled out to include today’s events.
