#2023-070367/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 03-14-2023 at 1700 hours, a grocery store in the 3000 block of Ne 45 St was robbed when a thief pulled what was reported to be a handgun on store employees and patrons when confronted about items he was stealing. The supposed handgun was then thrown by the suspect at the store’s window as he fled on foot. The recovered ‘handgun’ was discovered later to be a realistic appearing airsoft gun. Responding officers contained the area, the suspect was later arrested a short distance away, and positively identified by two independent witnesses. He was subsequently booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Robbery.

#2023-070505/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1930 hours, a suspect used 2 large rocks to break out 2 vehicle windshields and glass doors of a local business before assaulting a bystander. Multiple people called 911 and a witness followed the suspect until officers arrived. When the officers attempted contact, the suspect raised 2 large rocks in a threatening manner at the officers. After being warned several times, a Taser was deployed successfully. Suspect was taken into custody without further incident. No one was injured. Type II Use of Force investigation was initiated.

#2023-070646/North Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2149 hours a female victim was riding the northbound light rail train when an argument began between the victim and a female suspect. The argument escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim two times in the lower leg, resulting in minor injuries. Victim exited the train at Roosevelt Station while the suspect continued northbound to Northgate. Area check for suspect was negative. Victim transported to HMC via AMR. Media on scene. PIO notified. Metro Transit Police declined to take primary on the call.
