#2023-074828/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-19-2023 at 0140 hours, officers responded with Seattle Fire for a possible arson at a DESC building. Someone threw a flaming bike tire onto the awning of the unit below them. This caused that unit’s window frame to catch fire, which was put out by SFD. SFD checked both units, which were not occupied. Staff advised that the resident from where the flaming bike tire had come has known behavioral issues. There were no reported injuries to any occupants of the building. Fire Marshal responded to the scene and advised they would notify SPD’s ABS.
#2023-075501/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2000 hours, 911 received a call about a female victim reporting she was assaulted and strangled. Officers arrived, located the victim, and established PC for Assault 2. The suspect was inside the home with a child and was refusing to exit. HNT was called to the scene to speak with the suspect via phone while officers obtained a warrant. HNT was able to convince the suspect to exit the home on his own accord. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Officers entered the home and located the child who was not injured. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Inv. Assault.
#2023-075592/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2247 hours, a male walked into a gas station and walked around and then exited the store. Moments later, the same unknown male returned with 3 other unknown males, and they made their selection of approximately $20 in food. The 4 unknown males implied to the clerk they had a gun, and they would shoot the clerk. The unknown males walked out of the store without paying for the goods. Area check was negative for the suspects. The owner arrived on scene and stated the same 4 suspects had robbed the store on 03-15-2023 but that the incident wasn’t reported to police. Incident was screened with Sgt in Robbery.
