Seattle Police officer initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle speeding along Aurora Avenue North early Friday morning near Bitter Lake neighborhood.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., police stopped the vehicle near the intersection of North 125th Street and Aurora Avenue North. The 35-year-old male driver was identified and found to have a suspended license.
Officers found a firearm within the vehicle. The male suspect driver was prohibited from possessing a firearm. It was discovered the firearm was stolen over a year ago out of Pierce County.
Police arrested the suspect for unlawful possession of a firearm and booked him into King County Jail.
SPD will be requesting an additional charge of possessing a stolen firearm.
