#2023-091813/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 4-5-2023 at 1145 hours, multiple calls were received about a man acting strangely on University Way NE. The man was harassing females in the area and causing other disturbances. As officers searched the area, the suspect followed a female from the light rail, grabbed her, and forcibly stole her phone. Officers spotted and detained the suspect in the 4500 block of University Way NE and the victim made a positive ID. Suspect booked for robbery.
#2023-091827/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1229 hours, officers were dispatched to a man wearing a hockey goalie mask who committed a street robbery after implying he had a gun. Based on photos taken by the victim, the suspect was positively identified. An extensive search of the area led to the recovery of evidence including the hockey mask, but the suspect remains outstanding. UWPD circulated his picture to UW staff & students on their text notification thread.
#2023-091826/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1230 hours, officers responded to a disturbance at a hotel which was evacuated and placed on lock-down. The male was contacted in the hallway of the 17th floor and had removed and dismantled an ice machine, sprayed fire extinguishers, damaged numerous pieces of hotel property, and tried to start items on fire. The male was in crisis and was taken into custody. He was transported to HMC for emergent detention and further medical evaluation. Felony malicious mischief charges are pending.
#2023-091982/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1511 hours, a taxi driver reported he was assaulted by an intoxicated passenger who refused to get out of his cab. At some point during the altercation, the passenger used a racial epithet. The victim reported he was not injured, no damage to his vehicle, no threats were made, and he did not want to be screened by Seattle Fire. The suspect was extremely intoxicated and uncooperative.
