Officers patrolling Downtown arrested a man Monday evening after he discharged a gun in an alley, then pointed it at people.
Around 5:00 p.m., police responded to 3rd Avenue and Virginia Street for reports of a shooting. Police contacted the 911 caller who said she and a friend heard a gunshot, then saw the suspect approach their vehicle with a gun in his hand.
The suspect tapped on their car window, then pointed the gun at the woman. Fearing for her safety, the woman told her friend to drive away.
Officers located the suspect nearby and took him into custody. A loaded gun was found on his person.
After the victim positively identified the suspect, police booked the 25-year-old man into the King County Jail for investigation of felony assault and discharging a firearm.
