Police arrested a suspect after he returned to the scene of a fire at a University District home Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 1 p.m., officers arrived at a house in the 4700 block of 7th Avenue NE to assist Seattle Fire with a structure fire which was now extinguished.
Based on witness information, police were able to identify the suspect who left the scene.
Officers were called back to the house after the suspect returned and was confronted by the property manager. The suspect tried to leave, but police arrived and took him into custody.
The suspect was found to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. Officers booked the 40-year-old man into the King County Jail for his warrants and investigation of arson.
