Seeking Help from the Community about Garfield High School Shooting Suspects

SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives are seeking the community’s help in identifying the two suspects involved in the shooting that occurred at the Garfield Community Center.  

Suspect #1: Black male in his teens wearing an orange hoodie. Suspect Vehicle: white sedan (both pictured below at the top of photo)

 Suspect #2: Black male in his teens wearing a black hoodie and gray Air Jordans (pictured below) 

These two males had a verbal altercation prior to the shooting incident. The male in the orange hoodie entered a white sedan type vehicle and fired multiple shots from the car. The male in the black hoodie ran after the suspect vehicle and pointed a gun at it before running towards the baseball field.

Original Post: Central District Shooting Injures One

Police are investigating a shooting in the Central District that injured a man Thursday afternoon.

Just after 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of 23rd Avenue S after multiple reports of a shooting with a person injured.

Arriving officers located a victim in the parking lot of the Garfield Teen Life Center with gunshot wounds and rendered first aid until medics with Seattle Fire arrived.

The 19-year-old male was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers secured the scene and located several shell casings. Police learned the gunshots were fired from a white sedan that fled the area. A window of the building was shattered during the shooting.

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will lead the investigation.
