#2023-137328/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 5-19-2023 at 1119 hours, officers responded to a subject causing a disturbance and refusing to leave a public library. The suspect, who also made threats about killing police officers, struggled with police when they attempted to escort him out. He was booked into KCJ for assault, malicious mischief, criminal trespass, and obstructing.
#2023-137380/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1215 hours, officers arrested a shoplift suspect near Westlake Mall. Once handcuffed, the suspect spat toward an officer, striking him in the face. Police booked the suspect into KCJ for assault.
#2023-137541/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1443 hours, officers contacted a male rummaging in the trunk of a suspicious vehicle that was suspected to be stolen. Once the male was detained, an adult female in a white pickup charged officers with the vehicle, and threatened to run officers over if the male was not released. The male broke free, jumped in the cargo bed of the pickup, and the truck sped away. Officers were not injured.
#2023-137890/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1945 hours, an officer with SPD’s Community Response Group observed a female suspect tagging businesses in the Chinatown-International District. The suspect was contacted and arrested; she was also identified as a known chronic tagger wanted for tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of property damage. Officers booked the suspect into KCJ for felony malicious mischief.
#2023-138093/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2339 hours, officers responded to the area of 4th Avenue and Mercer Street after a male sprayed lighter fluid and attempted to light the victim’s vehicle on fire while they were in it. A fight ensued before the suspect fled in an unknown direction. Officers were not able to locate the suspect.
