#2023-139228/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
On 5-21-2023 at 0056 hours, officers responded to the 7500 block of 24th Avenue SW for a report of a robbery with a shot fired. Officers located two victims who had been assaulted during the incident inside a residential apartment. Containment was established and K9 searched for the suspect with negative results.
#2023-139257/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0156, officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a bar on University Wy NE. Officers received conflicting reports about the origin of the shots and did not locate any victims, shell casings, or damage at or near the scene.
#2023-139265/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0211 hours, officers were dispatched to a live video alarm at a business where the caller could see three suspects inside after closing. One suspect fled on foot and two fled in a vehicle parked in front. Officers arrested the suspect on foot and later booked him into YSC for burglary. Extensive damage was done by the suspects to gain entry.
#2023-139272/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0226 hours, officers responded to a physical altercation with a shot fired. Officers arrived on scene and located a small amount of blood but no suspect or victim. Evidence of a shooting was also recovered at the scene.
#2023-139303/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0325 hours, officers were dispatched to the report of shots fired. Police arrived in the area and located a victim with a grazing wound to his leg. The victim was uncooperative and provided very little information. Police located and recovered evidence of a shooting at the scene.
#2023-139535/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
At 1116 hours, officers responded to a DV disturbance involving a firearm. The suspect grabbed a handgun, made a threat, and pointed it at the two victims. The suspect eventually exited the apartment and was placed in custody. Officers obtained a warrant and recovered two handguns from inside the apartment.
#2023-139802/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1644 hours, officers responded to a person in crisis where a subject activated the fire alarms, caused damage to the common areas, and deployed the fire extinguishers. When police tried to contact the subject, he claimed to have explosives and was taken into custody when he tried to leave out a third story window.
#2023-139811/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1820 hours, officers were dispatched to investigate a bias incident. The suspect was detained and positively identified by the victim, then booked into KCJ for investigation of hate crime.
#2023-140084/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2240 hours, officers were on an unrelated call in the 400 block of Boren Avenue. When they exited the building, they observed the suspect smashing two large rocks onto the windshield of their parked patrol car, causing significant damage. They took the suspect into custody and booked him into KCJ for investigation of malicious mischief.
