Seattle Police Searching for May 2023 Murder Suspect

Seattle Police are searching for a man currently wanted for murdering a man in at an apartment building in the 200 block of Alaskan Way South in downtown Seattle on May 23, 2023.

A bench warrant for murder in the second degree has been issued for Miguel Bravo Mejia, 46, who fired several shots from a high-power pneumatic air rifle and killed the 29-year-old victim. He left the scene after the murder, and he is currently at-large. He also has several warrants for his arrest.

Mejia is described as about 5’6’’ tall, weighing about 145 pounds with brown eyes. He has ties to Spokane, Yakima and the Seattle area.

Police responded to a report of an unresponsive man Tuesday morning in Downtown.

Just after 3:00 a.m., officers arrived and found a man with injuries to his head and a gunshot wound in the 200 block of Alaskan Way South.

Police and Seattle Fire arrived, but the 29-year-old man had succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Homicide detectives responded and will lead the ongoing investigation.
