2023-183808/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 7-1-2023 at 0046 hours, officers responded to a stabbing aboard a Metro coach and arrested the suspect for investigation of assault. The victim sustained a minor laceration to the hand and was treated and released from the scene.
2023-184642/East Precinct/Third Watch:
At 1941 hours, police contacted the victim of a hit and run who reported he was shot at by the suspects as he ran after their vehicle following the collision. Patrol conducted an area check for the suspects and none were located. Evidence of a shooting was recovered at the scene.
2023-184797/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2225 hours, units with the SPD Community Response Group observed a male driving a suspected stolen vehicle. As officers approached, the suspect discarded a handgun into the vehicle before being taken into custody. Officers served a search warrant on the car and recovered a firearm. The suspect is a convicted felon and prohibited from having a firearm; he was booked into KCJ for multiple charges.
2023-184805/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2230 hours, officers contacted a man who walked into HMC with a gunshot wound. The victim told officers he was shot after he became lost in the area of 4th Avenue S and S Holgate Street or 4th Avenue S and S Lander Street. The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was treated at HMC.
