Police Arrest Woman for Brandishing Firearm Downtown

Seattle Police officers arrested a 59-year-old female for harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm Downtown Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., officers assigned to an emphasis unit, along with patrol, responded to a report of a woman waving a handgun near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Blanchard Street. Officers arrived on scene, detained the woman and recovered a firearm.

A witness told police the suspect was arguing with another woman before brandishing the pistol. Police interviewed a 54-year-old female victim who stated the suspect pointed the gun at her.

The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for investigation of felony harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm.
