Late Wednesday evening police received multiple 911 calls about a shooting in the University District neighborhood.
Police arrived around 9:00 p.m. and located a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest near the intersection of Northeast 50th Street and 12th Avenue Northeast.
Seattle Police provided aid until Seattle Fire arrived and took over care. SFD transported the man with his life-threatening injury to Harborview Medical Center where he later died from his wounds.
Soon after, while police were investigating the scene, a second man with a gunshot wound to his leg arrived at the University of Washington Medical Center for medical treatment. Officers determined this man to be the suspect but have not determined the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
Crime Scene Investigations Unit responded to the scene alongside Homicide detectives who will lead the investigation.
