#2023-213671/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0035 hrs., officers responded to a reports of a carjacking. Upon arrival officers learned the victim had just returned home and parked her vehicle. Victim got out of her vehicle and reached back in the vehicle to get her purse. Two unknown suspects with surgical masks put a gun to the victim’s head and demanded the keys to her vehicle. The suspects got in the vehicle and drove away last seen SB on M L King Jr Way S. Victim had no injuries. Suspects also stole her phone. Incident was screened with Robbery.

#2023-213667/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 0032 hrs., officers responded to the report of shots fired in the area of Rainier AV S / S Holly. Four shell casings were recovered. A nearby vehicle was found to have been struck by a bullet.

#2023-213620/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2330 hrs., Officers responded to a report of a prowler in a fenced yard. This prowler was held in place by the homeowner for police response. The prowler turned out to be a victim of an assault/robbery and had sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was unable/unwilling to provide important details about the incident to include incident location, time delay, suspect(s), involved vehicles or motive. K9 responded and an extensive area check was conducted to attempt to locate the scene without success. SFD evaluated the victim on scene and arranged for transport to HMC via AMR.

#2023-214353/South Precinct/Second Watch:

The Community Response Group conducted an operation to locate vehicles recently stolen via carjacking. Officers located one such vehicle. With the assistance of Guardian 1 and South Patrol, CRG was able to set containment while the vehicle was stationary, identified an approximate number of suspects, and develop a plan to make a stop on the vehicle. Officers contacted the vehicle. Two suspects were arrested with the vehicle. The third suspect fled on foot. That suspect was seen holding a firearm. Despite containment being set, the suspect was able to hide, discard the gun and his identifying clothing then escape the area. The suspect’s gun and clothing were recovered and placed into evidence. Auburn K9 assisted with a K9 track, but it was unsuccessful. The vehicle had been stolen out of Kent, and Kent PD came and collected the vehicle for their investigation. An SPD Detective was contacted and assisted with the investigation.
