#2023-218083/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-1-2023, at 00:31hrs, 911 calls were received reporting shots fired at 21st Avenue and East Union Street. Officers arrived and found evidence of a shooting. A group of males in the area flagged down responding officers. They stated two men walked by them and began firing without provocation. One of the men returned fire. Police located one injured not involved in the shooting with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound near 23rd Avenue and East Union Street. A nearby business also sustained ballistic damage.

#2023-218350/South Precinct/First Watch:

At 09:04hrs, patrol resources responded to a reported shooting near Martin Luther King Way South and South Henderson Street. Police located one subject with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Patrol officers located evidence of a shooting, spoke with potential witnesses, and found one vehicle with damage. The incident likely began between known subjects causing a disturbance that escalated. A search for the suspect yielded negative results.

#2023-218544/North Precinct/Second Watch:

At 12:00hrs, officers were dispatched to North 45th Street and Bagley Avenue North. Officers were responding to the location for a male that had thrown a large brick at an ambulance. The ambulance was responding to a medical call during the incident, no patient inside. Suspect was taken into custody and no personnel were injured. The emergency vehicle had to be decommissioned.

#2023-218613/North Precinct/Second Watch:

At 12:51hrs, officers were dispatched to a report of a male attempting to break into an apartment. Officers arrived, located the suspect, and took him into custody. Investigating officers also developed PC for a robbery that occurred earlier in the day. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.

#2023-218725/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 14:45hrs, officers responded to an active disturbance in the 100 block of Melrose Avenue East. Officers contacted a male and a female subject inside an apartment. Upon further investigation, the male subject was arrested for assault and obstruction.

#2023-218737/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 14:56hrs, police responded to a stabbing in the 200 block of Broadway East. Officers arrived and located the victim who sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound. Police rendered aid until Seattle Fire arrived. The victim provided information about the suspect. Officers located the suspect a few blocks away but the suspect left the area before he could be detained.

#2023-218739/South Precinct/Second Watch:

At 14:59hrs, a male suspect walked into a nearby business in the 2800 block of Beacon Avenue South. The male robbed the business and left the area. Police set up containment and searched for the suspect. The suspect was not located. Evidence was collected at the scene.

#2023-218760/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 15:24hrs, a PEO was issuing parking citations in the 400 block of 1 Avenue South. The suspect approached the PEO and stated you’re not a real cop. The suspect then assaulted the PEO. Officers responded to the location and placed the suspect under arrest. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for assault.

#2023-218865/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 16:54 hours, officers were dispatched to a business in the 1220 block of Madison Street for a report of robbery. Prior to police arrival, the suspect had left on foot westbound on Madison Street. The suspect demanded cash from an employee. After receiving the cash, the suspect immediately left the area.  A search for the suspect yielded negative results.

#2023-218958/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 18:25hrs, officers were dispatched to a threats call located in the 600 block of Pine Street. The complainant reported that a friend stated a male suspect in the business had a gun. Officers responded to the location and took the suspect into custody without incident. Upon gathering further information, the suspect was arrested for a hate crime. The suspect made “threats to kill” the patrons of the establishment because of their sexual orientation.

#2023-219097/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 20:49hrs, the victim was driving northbound on Rainier Avenue South near South Frontenac Street, when a SUV type vehicle drove into the bus lane to pass the victim’s vehicle. While passing, an unknown male passenger of the suspect vehicle climbed out of the passenger window, fired into the rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle, and then continued driving northbound on Rainier Avenue South. Officers located evidence of a shooting in the area. No one reported injuries at the time of the incident.
