Police received a report about a three vehicle collision near the intersection of Martin Luther King Junior Way South and South Orcas Street in Columbia City.
South Precinct officers arrived around 2:30 p.m. and located two vehicles with damage along with two injured subjects from the collision. Seattle Fire was on scene providing medical care and later transported the two injured subjects to Harborview Medical Center for further evaluation.
The 64-year-old male victim driver of the Toyota Prius sustained serious injuries and the 55-year-old female victim passenger had non-life-threatening injuries from the collision. The driver of the second victim vehicle, a Nissan Sentra was uninjured at the time of the incident.
It was reported to police the suspect driver was driving northbound when she initiated a westbound left turn onto South Orcas Street when she collided with the Prius and the second stationary vehicle, the Sentra, at the intersection.
The suspect vehicle fled from the scene but was soon apprehended after hitting a median in the 10000 block of Martin Luther King Junior Way South.
Witnesses assisted in identifying the female suspect driver as officers arrived.
The 23-year-old female suspect was arrested for hit and run and booked into King County Jail.
Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will lead the investigation of this case.
